[Review] What We Do In The Shadows Season 3
“Change is inevitable, confusing, messy, heartbreaking, but vital for growth.”
[BHFF Review] Ego (2021)
Presented at the Brooklyn Horror Film Festival, Ego is a psychological horror movie set during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic.
[Review] There’s Someone Inside Your House
The ending is theorized in the dullest explanation possible, and maybe perhaps that’s why this teen slasher is not going to be memorable at all.
[Review] Bad Candy (2021)
Horror anthologies are some of my favourite comfort watches, from Scare Package to Masters of Horror. There is an element of appreciation that I find in watching anthologies come to life on the small screen. Bad Candy is a low-budget anthology that prides itself on simplicity and practical effects that don’t go to waste. Each of the entries weaving in stories most of us know and love, adding in horror, blood, and guts to spooky up these local myths.
[Review] Till Death… or not
Till Death is a slow-burn psychological horror that is well and truly worth waiting for the action that evolves at an intense pace. Directed by Scott Dale and Staring Megan Fox, Eoin Macken, and Call Mulvey, this isolated thriller is an absolute thrill ride from start to finish.
[Review] The Last Thing Mary Saw
Director Edoardo Vitaletti’s debut feature film The Last Thing Mary Saw begins with Mary on trial for grave and suspicious crimes. She is told to recite the Lord’s Prayer at gunpoint—not that she would be able to tell, as she is bandaged and bleeding from her eyes. Going into the past, the discovery of Mary and her maid Eleanor’s relationship throws the family into chaos and brings in the sinister looking matriarch of the family.
[Review] Say His Name… I Dare You - Candyman (2021)
Nia DaCosta’s 2021 Candyman has been on the tip of everyone’s tongue since the announcement of the spiritual sequel in 2019. The revival of this urban legend back to the silver screen sees an interesting and modern take on the topics and themes that were explored in the original.
